Default A/C Not Working

1996 Honda Civic Dx

Whenever the A/C is turned on, it immediately blows the fuse (20A).
Testing the Condenser and Comp. Clutch Relays by jumping each one narrowed it down to the Comp. Clutch.

The Compressor will not turn by hand.

Help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the compressor is shot if it is not spinning by hand. I can spin mine with no problems. Not an a/c expert by any means though.

I'm no a/c expert either, but I did remove my a/c compressor from my 2001 Civic LX. I think it also was having trouble turning. So if you get to the point where you want to remove it, I might be of the slightest help.

Sounds like the bearing failed and burned out the clutch coil. A good Civic compressor turns easily by hand. There is a "once around" clunk in the scroll mechanism but it still can be turned by hand.
