A/C pulley bearing gone want to by-pass A/C

Default A/C pulley bearing gone want to by-pass A/C

Hi everyone the bearing on my A/C pulley went and the part cost a pretty pennie i was just wondering if it is possible to by pass the A/C with a shorter belt or if its not a great idea.

i just cut my belt off.. not sure about your year but i just did this a couple days ago. wont hurt anything else on my 00 civic

Do you have an 04 Civic? You can't cut the belt off if you only have one drive belt for the alternator, PS pump, and compressor!

no its 2 drives one for the power steering and another for the alternator and compressor. will a smaller belt work then.

If one belt solely serves the A/C compressor, then you can just remove it.

no it drives the alternator aswell but why couldnt i buy the belt for my model without the A/C compressor and just not use it.

You'd have to find just the right sized belt and make sure it doesn't rub on anything. Not sure how easy this will be.

ya thats what i was told lol just make sure it isnt gunna rub and get the right sized beelt well thanks for your help man helped alot.
