Default C/V Joint

If i replace the C/V axcel on my drivers side would i have to replace the transmission fluid? I did it the last time when i replaced the one on my passenger side but it needed to be changed any ways. The fluid thats in there now has >1000 miles on it.

no, you don't have to drain it all, just check the level once you're done.

Like mxs said, you can just pull the axle out and have a pan underneath as some will come out, then top it up when you're done. Never reuse fluid that drains out though.

It's a really good thing that i'm not a car mecanic.....after we got looking around in there. it wasn't the axle at all. there was a rock stuck in the caliper. Popped it out with a screwdriver and no noise. I'm going to replace the axle any ways now that i got a new part for it.
