Default Can anyone figure this one out?

Also at this time the check engine light went on, and the speedometer needle is just freaking out.
every light inside and outside the car started going from dim to bright, along with a mild whistling "wheeeoooowheeeeeeoooow...." sound in a steady waving kind of rhythm coming from the car.
The sound/dimming is going on simutaneously in this steady rhythm. does this sound familiar to anyone?
(yeah, i'm having the same problem as solewheelin)
Now, I've had the alternator changed already, and the one fuse under the dash... Well, the same fuse keeps blowing out... I'll change it, and as soon as I start the car, it's blown again. I've even tried using a higher powered fuse...

I'm not the greatest with cars, but my dad's trying to help me out, but he's not familiar with this kind of car... So does anyone have any ideas or suggestions to what might be going on (before I take it to a mechanic who's most likely going to charge me more than I can afford)?

first you need to isolate the circuit and identify what is on that 1 circuit, then 1 by 1 unplug all of them from the guage or light......then install fuse, start re-connecting devides till fuse blows. now you no where to look for a bad wire

just a heads up... never use a higher power fuse than factory... thats how alot of car fires happen. Just looking out for your safety..

hello everyone, I am a brand new member to the forum. I have this exact problem on my 96 civicdx. did this problem ever get resolved? If so, what's the answer?

Thanks,
