I have a 2001 civic,Canadian model. I don't know why all the sudden my alarm system stop working. The remote control can still open and lock the car but the car no longer response with a beeping sound and flashing light. I changed the battey in the remote control but this doesn't help. Looking from outside the car, the red light behind the steering weel is off, I remember it should be blinking. The anti-theft light on my radio is blinking though. Is this something I can do it myself? Please help.

I sent my car to the dealer to fix the stop light and the alarm problem happend after that. Are they related?

I'm clueless with cars. Any advice is highly appreciated.

 

I woudl go back to teh dealer and explain to the service manager what happened, then demand they fix the problem, and don;t let them charge you for it. If they ****ed it up, it is THEIR responsibility to fix it.

 

it sure sounds like they miswired something to make your alarm system non-functional. i'd go back and ask for the manager and get it fixed at no cost
