Car not starting
I went down to fix the front speakers in the civic today and after I had wired them up, I tried to start the car. As soon as I turned it to the start position, all the dash lights completely turned off in the car and I could hear the fuel pump making a noise that was gradually decreasing in pitch. The car has been parked in our shed over winter, and hasn't been driven, only started a few times. My guess is the battery is dying/needs charging, but I'd like to get a couple more opinions before I start trying to push it out of the shed to jumpstart it. Any insight would be much appreciated.

try charging the battery fisrt, i can almost gaurantee that if you havent driven the car in a while that that will be your issue

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! did she not see that the hood was propped open? You can just juststart it too so if you have booster cables then just do that then let the car run for a while to charge the battery
I have booster cables but it meansI wouldhave to roll it out of the shed and onto my driveway (harder than it sounds as the path is full of snow right now). I have a friend coming over with a battery charger now though, so hopefully that'll get her running.
Yeah, that's just the battery for sure. And, btw, you should start planning for a new battery...
Actually, there isa goodl old practice to disconnectyour battery when you leave car alone for a long time...

I will be getting a new battery and alternator (need a high-amp one) as soon as I can afford it. I will try that battery disconnect thing after I get it fully charged, and I'll try and run the car every few days.
