Default Car will not start when warm

So here is my problem.
Usually when I drive the car somewhere, park it for 15 min, and then come back to start it, it doesn't start. I would have to wait for it cool down. (like 2 hours to cool down)
Here is what I have checked so far:
1) Main relay to check for bad solderings, but all seems fine.
2) I checked whether spark plugs are giving spark and they are.
3) I can hear fuel pump engage when I turn on ignition.
4) If I keep trying to start the car, I can smell the gas (probs flooding the cylinder).

It is only when the car cools down that I can start it. I am not sure where to go from here. Last time I took it to the mechanic, the only error code was that of the catalytic convertor (faulty O2 sensor I think).

any ideas? this problem has been going on for like a year now.

Valves adjusted to tight will cause loss of compression and hard starting especially when warm. I also suggest this to "Brian1997" who is scattering new threads everywhere about a similar problem.

Thanks mk378.
I will check that. Hopefully the valve seats are not too damaged due to the valves not sealing off at high temperatures.

Hey guys,

I managed to solve the no-start condition when the car was warm. To summarize, I had 2 main problems with my car:
1) no-start condition when the car was warm.

Solution: I ended up changing a bunch of stuff. If you go through the thread you will see what I did. Replacing the ECT fixed that problem. What is weird was that I never got a code for the ECT.

2) I also had a hesitation problem.

Solution: I ended up changing the spark plug wires. Apparently some of the wires, especially when wetted were causing this problem.

This is for future reference for whoever has this kind of problem.

Throughout the process, I tested fuel pump, fuel relay, fuel pressure, spark plugs, spark intensity, timing, etc...
Anyway hope this helps for whoever has a problem like this.

The same thing happened to my Civic a few months ago. It turned out to be caused by dirty fuel pump/injectors.
