Default changed headgasket, new headbolts?

i just got my engine all apart to change my headgasket. i read in my book that it says you should change and use new headbolts each time. i was wondering if i should just get new ones or are the old ones fine?

I rebuilt the head on my '95 d15b7 at 220,000 miles and reused the same headbolts and 20k later no problems. You can try contacting a local NAPA and have them check the Gaskets catalog and they can tell you if the engine was equipped with Torque to Yeild bolts or not.

I would say don't use them as the head studs are torqued and essentially stretched when torqued to spec. I would suggest going ahead and investing in some ARP head studs, you can torque and re-torque them numerous times without having to worry.

Well I took my head in to a machine shop to check for watpage. It was free. I asked the machinist if I could re-use them and he said that they are non-torque yielding so it would be fine. Especially because this is the first time they have ever been removed and they only have 37000 miles on them
