Default changing wiper blade 06 civic

ive never changed wiper blades in my life. i dont know how ive been so lucky. i didnt think it could be that hard and i even read the manual first.

i could not get those plastic clips off. it says to squeeze the two tabs and pull straight off. after a few minutes, i had blisters on my fingers but those things would not budge. im too embarrassed to go to autozone and ask for help. what the hell am i doing wrong? thanks

You can do it, just takes a little finagling. I can't picture it at the moment but don't you push the two sides apart to pop the tab out?

If its the usual "hook" style attachment used on older models: lift the arm all the way up off the windshield. Pivot the blade 90 degrees so it is perpendicular to the arm (in the normal position on the windshield, it is parallel). Press the release tab and push the blade down along the arm so it comes out of the hook.
