"Check Airbag System" warning light
My 2014 Civic EX Coupe is displaying the warning per subject line. It's been intermittent for the last couple years and I ignored it but now it's emitting every time I start the vehicle. Obviously, I want to avoid the dealer and their high cost if I can fix this myself. Anyone know where this problem stems from?
Thank you
Thank you
I have a 2015 EXL and at the last dealer service the agent asked if I had seen the airbag warning light come on or stay on. The answer was no. His OBD reader said that the airbag would not work per his reader. I used my own data reader and found no errors. The same when I took the car to a local auto parts store who used their reader. No errors and I have yet to see the airbag warning light to come on.
Will the airbag work? I don't know but I don't want to spend $850 plus labor to fix it.
I watched a number of videos on how to replace the airbag and it looks fairly easy to replace if I want to do it myself. Some of the videos also said that some of the connections may need to be cleaned/brushed.
If I get into a head on collision and the airbag doesn't go off will the insurance company pay out if I knew about the problem and didn't get it fixed?
