Go to AutoZone they will let youuse the scanner for free. It will tell you what's the problem. It will give you some numbers write the down give it to them and they will print you a paper with the main causes why is triggering the CEL to come ON.

I took the shield off the header and there is a crack right down the middle. I will order one from ebay and replace it. Is it ok to drive it like this for few weeks?

I went ahead and order it. I am sure it is the right part after looking all over the internet.

FYI. My cat is part of manifold as a single unit.

That one looks like it'll fit.

Again, that was my individual case. Your problem could easily be something else. I'd still recommend doing what the other guy said and checking the code at Auto Zone and looking at all other possible causes.

You can drive with a cracked header for awhile. I was driving for at least 4 months after I found the crack in mine, and it had grown pretty large by then.

It's your call because my dad also owns a 96 Lx. His stock header had also a crack. Cel was on and car would just die constantly. Good thing we received a letter From HONDA about a recall if check engine was on to go to local dealer. They replace his header/cat, o2 sensor on the cat. spark plugs with wires, cap & rotor, Oil change, air filter.
O yeah the cat/header OEM retails about here in Cali for $490.00 Not bad for free...
All for FREE it was part of the recall....Awesome [sm=happy046.gif]

****Remember if you live in California the cat with header you just purchaseis not California legal.****

I would still recommend to call your local dealer about the recall. You don't have anything to lose. You might get all that work also for free and you can end up just selling that cat + header on E-bay.
