Default Check Engine Light

I have an 01 Civic EX, 104,000 mile and the check engine light came on. The car has a loss of power, hesitates and sounds really strange when accelerating at about 4500 rpm. Took it to get diagnostic and they said it read P1298 and P0172B and I would have to take it Honda for repair. Anyone have any suggestions before I go to the dealer? From what I can gather from reading posts P1298 is electric load detector and P0172B is fuel too rich bank 1.

Thanks

Here's how you would troubleshoot P0172 and P1298:
