Default Check engine light problem! Help Please!

ok when i start the car in cool weather the check engine light comes on and the engine has a little drag like lack of fuel or something. When I drive about 10 miles and turn off the engine then on, the check engine light goes away and the car rides smooth. This is a 95 civic dx manual with a 1.5 or 1.6 vtec d15b. Help please!

Quit guessing; put the jumper on and find the code.

The DX as stock did not have a knock sensor, but the ECU may have been replaced to support the VTEC engine.
