Default check engine light trouble

i am working on a 89 crx. check engine light is comming on.
so i found the jumper next to the firewall. it is a 2 prong that is kinda like a white color.
when i pull the carpet down on the passenger side. the red light on the computer is flashing a constant flash. no codes. so im not sure if i found the right jump? ive also looked under the glove box and couldnt find anything hanging there. any advice would be greatly appreciated

Do not install the jumper, that is used only when setting the ignition timing. The code LED is active any time the key is on. You need to count the number of flashes of the LED, that is the code. It will flash between one and 20 times, pause, then flash again.
