Default Civi Swap Questions.

I have a 1997 Honda Civic EX Coupe I am swapping in a D16 non-vtec but,
I need a shift linkage and a down pipe and am having a hard time to finding the parts. Is there anything else i would need for the swap? What is interchangable? And can you guys give me some tips on the swap to make it easier.

Umm, maybe because that's the engine that the OP can get free or cheap?

You can swap just the block and head in and keep the manifolds and other parts from your EX. The only problem with that setup is if you ever hit 5000 rpm, the CEL will come on once the ECU tries to engage the VTEC, and of course it doesn't work.

are you missing pieces o something ? all your parts are the same all d" series stuff is interchangable. if you took out your d16 vtec engine and your are putting in a d16 non vtec, everything is exactly the same, just bolt all your old stuff on it.
