Default Civic AC intermittent

My 2004 Civic is having problems with it's Ac working, Sometimes it works fine others the clutch doesn't turn on. I tried jumping the Switch on top of a small cannister on the front drivers side, I think it's the pressure switch, it didn't help. I checked the relay in the fuse compartment, no power to pull it in, If I jump the normally open relay terminals it comes on and cools nicely. Other times it just starts working on it's own. Could it be the temperature senso switch? If so where is it located and how to test it.
Thanks Tom

The temperature switch on the compressor is a common problem on the 2001-05 models. It should be closed circuit for normal operation. If the compressor overheats (which should never happen in normal operation) it opens.

Switch is on top of the compressor, it's the part with two small wires leading to it. Apparently they corrode or something and become open. You can jump it out the only problem is the compressor might burn up if someone keeps running the system while it is low on refrigerant.
