Question Civic bumper sag? - pics

How can I fix the bumper sag on my Civic? I took both bumpers off to try to fix the sag and insure that all the clips are correctly attached. All clips are there and are correct. The bumpers still sag on my car. My car has not been in any wrecks to cause the bumpers to sag.

Is this common with 96-00 Civics? How can I fix this?

Bump. I am also interested in knowing the answer to your question as I see an identical excessive gap for the rear bumper of my 00 Civic.

they're made like that, you can rig a joint to make the bumper lip sit on top of that little white hanger, but it usually drops out of place again.

dito..... that gap doesnt look that bad... to make it look less noticable in the rear just paint that white clip either to match or black!

the front looks fine to me...... if anything in the front maybe just a larger washer on the screw on the corner. or maybe actualy bolt the bumper cover to the fender. just pull the inner fender liners out for alittle easier access but IMO it doesnt look that bad to be a problem.

How would a larger washer on the front close up the gap? My car has never been damaged. I don't understand why my bumpers sag. Other Civics I see in parking lots look better than mine....

Mine is about the same in the back, less in the front but there is still some gap. I think it is pretty normal for civics, I have noted it on basically all the civics I've looked at (especially EK's). Although if you dislike it I'm not saying you shouldn't find a way to solve it (I'm sure there is one), just that you shouldn't worry the bumper is gonna come lose and fall off or anything

a larger washer can help because the stock screw with washer is only about the size of a nickel.... now that bumper cover is only held up by that nickle size washer on the screw. over time the plastic can sag around that nickel size washers... the larger washer will help level out the area its on to hold it straighter.

Someone I know with an Si used zipties to tighten it up a bit, I think it's a common problem.

Where do I tie the zip ties too on the rear bumper? There aren't any holes that aren't being used by the plastic black clips.

Most of the civics that ive seen have that problem (including mine), you can also get a screw and screw it up tighter
