Default civic dies while driving

Hi Everyone,

I have a problem with my daughters 1993 civic ex. The car starts fine then after about 5 mins. It just dies. When you try to restart the car it sounds like it wants to start but doesn't. If you wait about 15 mins it will start up again, then will die again after about 5mins.

Any Idea???

HELP!!!!!!!!!

that sounds like a spark problem. i am not around cars like i was years ago, but back then, the coils would go out when they got hot; but if you leave it cool down, they will work.

when it dies, someone needs to do a spark test; right away.

knowing what has been written here about the EFI main relay - that would be something to check, also.

It's most likely your main relay(man I say this a lot) a common issue with the older civics. I had the exact same problem with my 93. The forum link I put up there has an explanation from me, about why your relay is probably the problem. And I also told the guy how to check if it is. Take 20min, save some money and check it.
