Sounds like a grounding problem. Check the ground wires again, maybe the one on the transmission was left off when changing the clutch.

You can jump the starter to see if it works, unplug the small wire from the starter and run a jumper wire from the small terminal on the starter to the battery plus. When doing this have the key off, transmission in neutral, and the brake set. Stand to the side so if the car takes off despite these precautions, it won't run over you.

As mentioned, check whether the tranny ground wire is disconnected, loose, or corroded. If the ground is fine, next try to push start the engine. If it starts this way, then check the starter switch located at the top of the clutch pedal.

The fan is running continuously probably because someone has installed a jumper wire into the 2P connector of the fan switch on the thermostat housing.

Locate the ECT switch and its connector on the thermostat housing. Is the switch unplugged and does the free connector have a jumper wire installed?

Are you sure that the fan running isn't the A/C fan? If you have the A/C turned on and turn the key the A/C fan will turn on.
