civic trans swap
its a sucess! 60k on it and she works good. i am gona take the oldtrans apart. i think it needs a 1st clutchpack. it lookes blk on the inside, blackish red. the rest looks good inside it. real clean. i still have a engine light! its not the same codes, one is a o2 sensor code. can u clean them? the sensors? and the engine coolent temp code but i didn't hook it up (doh) but i wana get that light out. i also have a iat code. it never gave me a issue until i cleaned the t.b out w. carb cleaner.
Whenever you have multiple codes, clear the ECU and see which code reoccurs first. Running without all the sensors working could cause a false O2 sensor code because the ECU is not able to control the fuel mixture properly. Oxygen sensors usually fail because they crack internally and of course there is no cure for that but replacing it.
i hooked every wire up on the trans and it shifts perfect! the coolent temp i hooked up and my gage is now working again. the iat sensor should have been fine. do they normaly fail? as far as i know, everything functions fine but the ox sensoer be4 the cat.
just buy a new o2 they are fairly cheap at advace auto parts, also reset the ecu. unhook your battery or unplug the ecu for a few mins then hook it back up and run it for a little while and se what codes come back up.
i priced shopped and got it cheaper at advance auto parts, and that isnt that much because my civic hatch was a 5 wire and it was way more. just buy one o2 sensor
replace it. also they come with a warranty.
replace it. also they come with a warranty.
the trick to get it off is let the car run for a little while let the exhaust pipe get hot, then turn car off and remove it, or soak it down with pb blaster or something and try and remove it.
you know where the iat it is located right?
i guess replace it. it shouldnt be to much
