clicking noise on first gear
actually, to give you more background... i'm trying to teach my gf how to drive her civic (manual trans)
uphill without letting the car drop too far before catching first gear. anyways, i notice that half the time,
i hear a clicking noise from the right side of the car near the front/right wheel well. this isn't the type
of clicking from a bad cv joint. it's a sharp click, like when you're cutting your toenails. hahaha, that's
the only example i could come up with. of course, it's a little louder than that.
actually, it's similar to the problem described in this thread https://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_63447/tm.htm
it didn't sound like any transmission part, like a synchro crunching. it sounded very sharp and like it was
coming from outside of the engine/tranny. maybe a part connecting the engine and tranny?
i hear it both when she was reversing and on first gear. i didn't hear it on the other gears when driving.
any ideas what it may be?
