Clunky suspension, could the ball joint be the culprit?
Hey guys,
I have an 01 civic, 80k on it.
Over the last week it developed a clicking/knocking/clunking kind of sound from the front passenger side. The sound got worse pretty fast, gets worse every day. Mostly does it at slow speeds, sometimes clicks once, sometimes several times in a row.
I went under the car, but all i could see was the lca ball joint boot sprung a leak and the grease came out of it. The lca bushings don't look too great either. However i detected no play on the ball joint, tie rods, or bearings. The cv boots are fine.
Would an improperly lubricated ball joint explain this situation? Thanks in advance

I have a popping noise at low speed braking for sometime from driver front and recently changed upper control arm, lower ball joint, lower control arm outer bushing, outer tie rod, brakes and rotors. STILL THE POPPING NOISE.
I may have the same noise as you, let me know what you find. I gave up for now.
