Clutch advise
I need to replace my clutch, i'm not to good with this but i was lookin at a few clutch kits on the web and a few of them come with the flywheel and some of them don't, do i need to replace the flywheel too or not. I want to upgrade the cluch a little so mabey i should replace the flywheel too... idk, any help or clutch opinions would be great.
I'm not an expert but here is what I would recommend.
1) if your motor is stock, or even slightly modded, a replacement for your stock clutch should be fine You should however send your flywheel to a machineshop to get re-surfaced.
2)if your motor is more then slightly modded, OR you don't mind (or actually want) a stiffer clutch, then go with an upgrade (generally referred to as a "stage 2" clutch, or even a "stage 3" clutch if you want to go all out. These upgrades generally come with a lighter flywheel as part of the kit
Generally the upgrades are most noticeable in 2 areas. The friction material is more "grabby" and the springs within the clutch are also stiffer. This reduces slip and "give" as you change gears. The downside is the more upgraded your clutch, the harder it is to pull off smooth shifts like you can with a stock clutch.
What year/model is your car, and what upgrades have you done (if any)?

As long as you haven't completely burnt up the clutch, old flywheel should be OK as it is to put a new stock clutch in. Racing clutches are not great for daily driving especially in city traffic. If you do go with one, you should get the flywheel that matches it instead of the stock one.
