I have a 1994 4 dor civic DX, 1.5 engine, with auto transmission. Speed demon right!!!
I am not looking tomake mine a high performance car, but I think it is in need of something. I have had a 79 accord, and a 87 CRX SI, My mom had a 96 civic. not sure which engine. All accelerated better than this one.
What I need. My 94 doesnt accelerate very fast, and it is unsafe to pass cas, unless you have a mile or two. I bought the car used. Dont know what the service reacord was like.
The car seems to run good. Could it be in need of a tune up, or is this normal with this small engine.
If it need a tune up, what should I do to it. I have changed the oil, air filter.

 

that 1.5 normally doesn't accelerate well, compared to the previous cars you've driven. maintanence things you can do beyond oil, and air filter include, fuel filter, spark plugs, engine flush, etc. But it won't give you the power you are looking for.

if you want more power, you will have to start putting in mods and that can get very pricey pretty quick.
