obd 1 cars only have one o2 sensor, and by law, 98 and later are obd2, the second 02 is used for the computer to check up on the cat to make sure that its working properly.the computer should be getting a steady .5 volts. to much higher or lower and the computer thinks the cat isnt working. and sence the 02 creates AC current, then im guessing those .5 volts you would have to send back are AC. the pre cat 02 sends "wagging" signals to the computer between 0 and 1v, so i dont think you can just wire them together. if you just disconect your 02, then your vehicle will go into open loop mode and usually that means it runs richer.
