Coolant disappearing, IM investigation
Hi guys. I recently bought a 96 civic EX but the engine was swapped for a Y7. It appears they kept the vtec head from the Y8 though.
I have been needing to add coolant every so often... and sometimes it doesn't suck it out of the reserve tank, needing me to add directly to the radiator. I checked all the hoses and it does not leak on the ground when running. So it must be burnt up somehow.
Anyways.. I noticed one time that after driving and my head was under the hood, I heard a sizzling sound. It appeared that coolant was boiling at the mating of the IM and head right in the middle of the IM between cylinders 2 & 3

I removed the intake to see where the coolant could be coming from and am not understanding this. Is there a coolant passage in the head where it is leaking from?

Do I have a blown head gasket or something? The oil looks good. The coolant looks good, no white exhaust or sweet smelling.

Any ideas?
Thanks guys
