Default Coolant Temp Sending Unit -- connector

Hi, while changing my head gasket and taking off various parts, on my D15B7, the connector for the wire (yellow/green) that connects to the terminal of the cooling temp sending unit (the sensor that does, apparently, nothing other than provide the signal for the coolant temp gauge) came apart due to its age and brittleness. I wonder if anyone has had this happen, and what was your solution to creating a study connection.

I'm thinking perhaps a butt connector (crimp) could be used..

I think it's called a "bullet" connector. They are also used on a lot of American cars and other stuff so it should not be hard to find in a parts store. You don't really need it covered with insulation, just get the metal part to make the connection.
