coolant temp sensor???
Not real likely unless it is causing the ECU to retard the timing a lot trying to warm up the engine, combined with a marginal cooling system. You would also have an abnormally high idle. Speaking of timing, if your timing is not properly set you can get excessive heat, so check that too.
i dont think i have anything to check the timing.....i dont know i got misfires readings on the sheet when i went and got it checked too but i think that might be just from the sparkplugs maybe going bad.I just thought that maybe that sensor was causing my overheating cause when i rev the engine with the cap off it kinda shoots the water outta the rad for some reason.
the water is starting to get hot and alot of little bubbles are starting to form on the top...is that pretty bad or does that mean my fears about it being the headgasket???
if you radiator fan doesnt work check fuse and relay under hood in fuse box, to check relay turn your A/C on....if condensor fan turns on, swapthat relay for the radiators relay then let your car warmup and see if radiator fan turns on.....if not it means you have bad radiator fan switch wich is located on the thermostats housing.
well the fan works after the car idling FOREVER and ive replaced the fan switch anyways...im pretty sure its the head gasket now even though i dont have the usual symptoms.....i get alot of little bubbles constantly after the water starts to get hot from the thermo opening up so i think my fears have come tru...lol....dammitt
if youre getting misfire codes get yourself a honda haynes manual. it will show you how to check youre distributor and ignition coil for voltage/ohms readings to see if it is working properly. first tho check your plugs and cables, then distributor cap and that spining thing in it. my car had same problem but it owuld shutoff on me while on the road, it eneded up being the whole distributor not including the coil or cap.
how could that be making my car overheat though???....ill have to check those misfire codes out after i get the overheating prob fixed cause i cant go anywhere over 5 miles without having to come back.
