rsx idle relearn question
is there a idle relearn for the rsx? Me and a friend of mine installed a full exhaust and a header and his idle goes up and down alil, and it's more noticable when the a/c is on. What is there to be done?
since no one else will answer, i will.
the answer is "probably yes."
i know that acura integras can have idle stumbling after you mess with the engine (in my case adjusting the valves and changing the timing belt).
the process you are referring to is wiping the memory from the engine computer so it relearns how to idle properly.
check on rsx forums or temple of vtec to learn how to do it properly for your friend's car.
it's pretty simple.

i tried searching those fourms but it just talks about removing the negative cable on the battary or removing the hazard fuse and ecu fuse. but i'm pretty sure there has to be a different method besides the ones i mentioned.
the only cell it's throwing is the cat because it's catless, where going to fix that with a ghetto sim. And hopfully the ruff idle will end. but i dont see how it would effect the idle to go up and down.

1. it's "cel"
2. that o2 sensor "senses" if the cat is working properly (which you don't have one) so that means it's gonna throw a cel and affect the performance of the car.
and that also causes the idle to be ruff? He also notice a power lost in top end. When he was stock it was easier to get to 115mph but since we did the mods, it's hard (takes more time) for him to reach 100mph.
don't really know why you would need to reach that speed for comparison, but oh well, and to answer the question, yes, it will causerough idle and a loss of power, it might even cause you to stall
I don't think that the secondary O2 sensor is used in the feedback loop for the engine. The secondary O2 sensor is there to check if the cat is working. The primary O2 sensor is used in the feedback loop to adjust the air/fuel ratio. I would think that if your primary O2 is fine, you shouldn't really have a problem. I am not sure if the secondary O2 sensoris used by the PCM to determine the air/fuel ratio but I would think that it isn't used for that purpose.
