Crazy Vents.....
So....pretty sure this is an electrical problem, lemme try and explain best i can
- my vents dont work when my car is on or onthe second position of my key, i beleive this is "Accesorry". Every now and then they'll flicker on and off, but then stay off again. This is completely random.
- When i turn my key to the first position, my vents work on all different power levels except Max (the most air blowing out). When i put it to max, they flicker on and off again.
- When i turn my car OFF, key out of hte igntion completely, like totally off, the same thing happens that happens when i turn my key to the first postion, my vents work until max, then they start to flicker. This shouldnt happening at all, since my car is totally off altogether. This happens for like a full minute, then the vents stop working.
WTF?

there is probably something wrong with the high fan relay, or its wiring. you will need to pull the blower motor out from under the glovebox. that's all I will say since I'm assuming you have a Hayes manual for your car...
so back to my thread (from the dead), on another thread somebody suggested my blower relay was bad. Well i just went out and pulled me relay out of my car, but i dont know how to tell if its bad. Should i just replace it anywya?
How about the key switch itself. My mom's Accord had an AC problem that was finally solved by replacing the ignition switch. In her case we had to wiggle the key to get the AC started. Since it seems related to the position of the key I would rule out the relay.
actually little update, blower doesnt work at all now.....nothing relating to the key, just wont work at all....and no melting/corrosion on either of hte relays i took out for the blower, they seem to be in perfect condition....more ideas?
I would not expect it to work unless the relays are plugged in. If poking around the relays made it worse, you probably need a new relay.
There are some more advanced tests that can be done but if you don't have a lot of electrical experience it would be simplest to just find another relay and try it.

no it stopped working altogether before i took the relays out man, thats not it
auto parts stores quoted me (one store) at $48 for both relays, and another store for like $130??? how much should i expect to pay for a new relay
and do i really need to spend this money even thouhg the relay seems to be in perfect conidtion?
