I know on the Gen 5 the key switch turns on one wire which powers up basically every accessory on the whole car, the relay is just one part. But on your car I don't know how it is wired and it could very well be the key switch like Gene said. At least now that it doesn't work at all you can pull the diagram and start measuring voltagesor usinga test light and draw some definite conclusions.

 

my manual like doesnt have the diagram, link to anything useful? Or atleast some help on where to probe with the voltmeter?
