gear ratios were what ive counted after tearing down a few trannys in the past. cant remmeber what gearing calculator i used. same saying here goes for everywhere. if in doubt search. the internet is your friend
Redlinig the motor won't do you much good. Your max Hp @ Xrpm is where you want to shift at. going past that X rpm is pointless. I have a 95 civic wiht a d15b7 and my max hp is at 5900 rpm. my redline is at 6200 when "racing or under heacy acceleration" i shift at 5900. let me find a link for shift speed(mph) and rpms. I'll post it when I find it.
I couldn't find the link to that website that had that stuff, But I think we need to summons the almighty SACICONS to help us here. And when we do find that link, I think it needs to be stickied. Sacicons, do you think that you can help us out here. I'm kinda interested in looking at that link again. Thanks Sacicons!
A rev limiter is basically redlining it. The rev limiter is in place so that you don't do any damage to your motor. that is the maximum RPM you can rev at without damaging your motor. Just for reference all cars come with rev limiters.
