Default d16a6 head on a d15b7

Hey guys,
My valves were junk on my d15b7 head, so i put a d16a6 head on it, so with the d16a6 head installed on the b7 block, i'm running into timing issues. i line the marks up perfect and then crank it and it doesn't start so i check the timing and its off every time. am i forgetting something? i read online that all i had to do was swap them and it was done. Any info is very much appreciated.

as far as i know you just need the belt that matched the head, so get a 91 crx si timing belt.
another question are you sure its a d16a6? whats the code stamp by the exhaust ports? (look on front of head by exhaust and post all the numbers and letters)

I don't think you need a Y8 cam gear. If that was what you needed, the engine would still run with the cam gear you already have... it's only a 1/2 tooth difference between that cam gear and the one you already have.

The problem is that you must have the wrong belt. Also, make sure you properly tension it.

you always use the belt that matches the head not the block, thats your problem.

its the d16a6 head. i know it is for sure. i just cant think of the numbers off the top of my head. i'd look but its not at my house its in my buddies barn lol. i'm hoping the cam gear will tighten it up. its not far off. just enough to jump the timing a tooth or two

its the belt, goto part store if you wanna verify, ask if the crx si belt is different from the belt you have
