D16y7 into an EG, and a Y8 head swap. please help!
okay, i've done alot of research on this board to find out what i exactly need for this swap. i have some questions that i haven't found answers for.
1. im going from the stock D15 from my CX to a D16Y7, what do i need for the motor to run?
2. i have a D16Y8 head available. i know the head swap wouldn't be hard for a mini-me, but what head gasket should i run (keeping in mind i don't want to raise compression), what Timing belt, etc.
3. what wiring harness/ecu would i need to get this motor to run? i have the Vtec ecu from a Y8 and whole body harness from a 96 EX available. would i need to swap this out completely, or use my stock harness and wire for Vtec?
I'd highly appreciate any answers to these questions because im in the dark, and im running on borrowed time because my D15 is pretty much on the way out. thanks fellas!

convert the d16y7 to obd1. you're gonna need to use your motor mounts and wiring harness from your d15 and mount it on the d16y7. swap the d16y8 head and use a d16z6 headgasket. you can't use the 96-00 civic wiring harness because it is obd2 and it's a one piece from the engine to the ecu. the one on your cx is a 2 piece and it's obd1. you will need to wire vtec and knock sensor. use a p28 ecu for your new motor.

im also converting the intake mani from the Y7 to the Del sol Vtec intake mani that i have. since im doing so, what injectors should i use because i only have a set from a Y8 and my stock D15.

2. i will tell you how to wire your knock sensor and vtec. for the knock sensor plug, i have it for sale hit me up. you will also need a couple of ecu pins. i will throw that in for free w/ the purchase of the plug.
