Default D16z6 no spark after swap

Hey, We recently swapped a D15b7 with a D16z6 and we're getting no spark.

Obviously my first idea was distributors hooped but I just want to check before I go out and spend a fortune on a bunch of different things.

The car ran fine on the D15b7 so I'm ruling out fuses and ecu problems, unless there is something I don't know about when it comes to vtec ecu's not allowing engines to spark.. I tried both the d15 and d16 ecu and no luck.

Other than that though, fuel sounds good.. everything sounds good, it just won't spark.

Seems like you have a bad ignition coil

1) Did you attach the important ground wire on the thermostat housing?

2) Check whether the distributor is getting battery voltage with the ignition key turned to ON.

3) Check the coil and igniter unit in the distributor.

Edit: Is the CEL ON?

All grounds should be grounded properly.. I will try re grounding them.

How do I tell if distributor is getting battery voltage and what is CEL?

Thanks.. and sorry.. I don't know to much about cars, me and my dad are working on it.. mostly him

Remove the connector to the distributor. With the ignition key turned to ON, you should measure 12V by touching the positive electrode of a voltmeter to the terminal for the Blk/Yel wire and by touching the negative electrode to an engine ground (any convenient metal engine part).

what is CEL
