dash lights gone out help!!

Default dash lights gone out help!!

the lights behind my speedo and fuelgaugetemp gaugehave gone out. can anyone tell me where the fuse is as this is probably the most obvious explanation. i know the fuse is under the steerin wheel but im not sure of the exact one. i drive a 96 ek 3door 1.4. uk spec. any hlp much appreciated. a link to a diagram mite help too!!

Could be a blown fuse 30 or a bad dash lights brightness controller.

Edit: First before you do anything make sure that someone just didn't turn the dimmer all the way down.

Check if the tail lights work first. If the tail lights work and the fuse is good, pull the brightness control out of the dash, unplug it, and jumper the red wire to the black wire in the plug. The dash lights should come on full bright. If they do the dimmer control is bad.

mk, the taillights are a branched circuit protected by fuse 32.

My car had a similar problem. I found that the wires from the harness that connect to the cluster had worn off in some places and were shorting out. I replaced fuse #15 and it worked like a charm. My car is a 00 si so yours may be similar.

A blown fuse 15 would cause a lot of problems but not failure of the dash lights:
