Default Success...thanks for the help everyone!

The reman distributor fixed my no spark issue, and my '93 Del Sol with 210,000 miles runs like new, and also got a much needed tune-up in the process!

I wouldn't have figured it out without the help of this forum...keep up the good work!

OK...maybe one followup. I got paranoid about setting the timing with my old crappy light, and asked my mechanic to do it since it was in for a leaking tire.

It now has a mild hesitation. Seems to start going away at 3K and is gone by 3500 RPMs.

I'm wondering if he set it without jumpering the ECU? Does that induce a hesitation on acceleration that clears up in 3-4 sec?

Looking at the distributor, it is turned most of the way clockwise in the hole slots. The original was slightly on the counterclockwise side.

Yeah he probably did it wrong. Turning it clockwise retards the timing, which is consistent with the ECU advancing the timing while it runs in normal mode (no jumper). They almost always land near the center of the range when set properly.
