Default ding in the dash

I bought a 95 civic dx and the guy i bought it from tried to install a cd player himself and left a few problems unsolved. A) he only got the front drivers speaker working, B)when i turn the car off it resets the stereo so i have to adjust all the presets and everything like that everytime, and C)When i leave the lights on the dash does not ding like it's supposed to( suppose it's related to the stereo hookup). If ANYBODY can give me ANY HINTS I would GREEEEAAAATLY appreciate it thanks, josh

wow.. that sucks.... he doesn't have the constant power wire hooked up to anything.

There should be a power wire, and then a constant power which supplies power to the memory to the radio to keep the settings.

go back in and check and recheck all the wiring. He's got apparantly didn't hook something up.

I don't know. You'd have to look it up in a haynes and in the cd players installation guide.

I didn't have to do much work since crutchfield sends a free adapter harness when you buy a deck.

if you know how to use a test light (or circiut tester) you could find the constant power wire. are you in northern or southern cali?
