I have a problem with my 91 honda civic si. The check engine light came on and when it goes over 3000rpms the car shutters and doesn't accelerate. IT happens after about five mins of driving. The distributor is making some bad noises but it was doing that before the problem. I was wondering if anyone knew what might be wrong with it. Any help would be great. Thank!!!

 

Distributor that makes noise needs to be replaced. Then go from there.

 

It sounds like your ECU is going into back up mode. does the ECU light blink? if so how many times?
