Hello all.

I've browsed the site for a day or so and havent found a clear way to find an answer. I just got a 2001 LX yesterday. I'm curious to know how I can find out if my car has RKE. I'm a little spoiled because my previous car had it and i'm not using the key so I'm having to slow down a bit.

I went to the Honda site and created a profile with my VIN, and for the exterior features it mentioned remote keyless entry: access, but it also mentioned a moonroof (that I don't have)

 

I'm pretty sure that if you have an EX you should have a moonroof, and keyless entry.

Are you sure that it's really an EX?

EDIT: yea, all EX have moonroofs.

 

Oops, my mistake, I"ve corrected my typo, I have LX model.

 

in the 7th gen and with the '99-'00 models too, the civics came with a separate module for keyless entry. you will have to check to see if the module is in your car. if it is then you need to purchase the fobs and program it and you're good to go. my 98 lx came standard with the wiring pre-installed though it was connected to the factory radio back then.

go to my sig and download your year's civic factory service manual and find out where it is. it is apparently in the driver's side but I cannot be sure since I only have a '98.

 

yea i asked the guy in autozone and he said something about a black box. I forgot to look today but will look tomorrow. will dowload the huge file too thank you for the link
