i have a lowerd 91 hach dx auto w/ a short ram intake im lookin in to getting a full exaust... headers back am i goin in the right direction or should i head another way... is there hope for my stock 1.5 liter w/out spending way too much money( under the cost of a swap)

Definately the right direction... especially with the intake already on. The exhaust will up the output on your intake a few horsepower because they work off of each other. Go with a nice header later... then you will really feel the difference.
