this is my problem. i swapped out motors but my new motor did not have purge solenoid on the intake manifold for the evap canister ( or the charcoal can on the firewall behind the trottle body. do i really need to hook this up for my car to run better?? i heard it only stores gas vapors until i start my car but would this be a problem??

 

you need it to pass OBD2 inspection. Depends where you live.

 

so it wouldn't have nothing to do with performance ??

 

it's just for emissions control
