Default Does my car have ABS?

As some of you know my outer cv boots are torn open and if the worst comes to it i will have to replace both axles. I guess they make different axles for cars with and without ABS. I have a 97 Civic coupe EX 5-speed. Is there anyway of know if i have ABS on my car?

I'm pretty sure that it wasn't offered with the 5-speed. I have a 99 EX 5-speed and it definitely doesn't have ABS.

ok the 1997 Civic EX, 2dr cpe, 1.6L SOHC 16V 4cyl VTEC Manual Transmission does not have ABS. but the 1997 Civic EX, 2dr cpe, 1.6L SOHC 16V 4cyl VTEC Auto Transmission came with it if it was ordered that way. my source is http://www.autopedia.com/Honda/97_Civcpe.html in case you want to see for yourself.

Yup that site appears to be pretty accurate. Mine has ABS, 97 civic ex sedan 5 speed. The site confirms it.

LEVIII you still want me to take a pic of my engine bay? It will have to be with a digi camera phone. Was ABS even offered in my year/model as an option?

ABS was not really offered as an option. It was offered only for certain models i.e. ex automatic coupe, ex sedan and so on. If the trim did not include it, the stealers would not add it. That was one of the deciding factors for me when I was looking at them way back when first got mine.

I was pretty sure that any 5-speed civic from 96-00 didn't have ABS.

That site really isn't very credible either...
