Default Dome light problem

Just got a 08 LX and the dome light stopped working when the door is opened. It works fine in the on position, did something go bad somewhere?

The door switch is prob sticking, or went bad. Check that and lets us know if that is the problem.

Does the passenger's door still activate it? If only the driver's door is not working, but passenger door OK, almost certainly it's the door switch.

If neither door works it could be the switch in the light itself, though I think on later models the light signal goes through the keyless/security system as well.

Checked the door switch and it doesn't seem stuck, and no, neither door nor the keyless unlocking activates it.

My 2010 LX owners manual states that the door light does not work with doors. It only works by turning it on manually.
I wonder if I can install an EX dsome light assembly

Default 2008 LX dome light

My 2010 Civic LX owners manual states that the dome light does not work with the door. It can only be turned on manually. I wonder if an EX dome lamp assembly can be installed.
