Hi i just bought a 89 civic hatchback dx today and i found out that there is a prolbem with the driver side door lock. when inside the car it locks when i switch it but when i open the door or try to turn the key the lock does not move and i cannot lock the car. anyone had this prolbem before or know how to fix it? do i need to take off the door panel or what?

 

i have a 91 hb and you have to hold the handle out and then lock it. but i have never been able to lock it with the key. you would have to change the lock cylinder.
