Default driver door lock/handle...

Ok, on the 92-95 civic, I have been told that it is normal to have to hold the drivers door handle out to lock the car while the door is open, otherwise you have to use the key to lock it...

at least that is how my car is... 1993 Honda Civic DX all stock except CAI, no power options except I added factory power mirrors.

That really annoys me because most of the time when I get out of my car I have my hands full and then have to put everything down to lock my car, then pick it all back up and go about my buisness.... IS there something I can do to make it lock without holding the handle out like that??? or is my car screwed up? are they all like that?

Thanks,
Mike

Mine does the same as well, and when I have stuff in my hands, I just open the door and lock it first, then I grab my stuff second.

yeah, that works... but i would still like to find a workaround... I mean haven't ever forgot about it, and I mean it always happens when it's pouring rain out....

My 95 ex does the same thing. I was asking around on other forums and nobody could find a cure for it. I guess we just have to keep doing what we have been doing
