Dumb Question
Yeah yeah yeah I know, I know. It's a dumb question to you guys but I am not very mechanically savvy.
So I wanted to find out if you guys could help me with this;
I blew something up in my 96' EK civic after a good hard thrashing
I heard a nice big pop and I found a golf ball sized hole in the engine bay. I had someone tell me it's the gearbox so i'm going to swap it out when I pick up another one.
Is there any other part of the engine that may have been damaged due to the gearbox being blown up or should I be able to just swap it out and drive away?
Thanks in advance for any help guys. Hopefully i'll have my Rhonda back up and running within the month!

That would be the transmission. Note that the car in the picture is automatic. If your car is manual, try starting it and keep the clutch held down so the gears don't try to move. If the engine still runs normally, you should only need to replace the transmission.
