Default dumb question but i gotta ask

1997 DX 1.6L PFI SOHC 16V. plain vanilla civic.

daughter's car needs a tuneup. i call the parts store to price distributor cap,
rotor, plugs and wires, and they say well, is it a V-TEC? nope. well, i need
to know what distributor you have before i can tell you which parts. okay,
what kind do they have? well, a tech or a hitachi. okay, i'll find out and call
you back.

this was a used car with no owner's manual. look under the hood on the
emissions plate, look at the distributor -- no clue that i can see. distributor
just has the old Honda H on it that looks like a little decal.

so how can i find out which distributor i have? or is it so obvious i'm missing it?

search just brings up distributor caps, mostly Bosch from what i can see,
but nothing per se about the distributor.

thanks.
