my car has a d15b7 and if your talking about the (idle air control valve)iacv ....i some how allows the right amount of air flow so the engine dont run lean and keeps the rpms right where there suppost to be ,....dont quote me on this but i think that i what it does if not someone will chime in and correct me i hope ....if this is what your asking about it is located at the bottom of the throttle body...........

The ECU drives the EACV to let air into the intake bypassing the throttle plate, which is completely closed at idle. The rpm is stabilized and controlled to a pre-programmed setpoint that way. Meanwhile the ECU is also controlling the fuel mixture independently by driving the injectors. The EACV does not affect the fuel mixture. Also it is only important for idling, a malfunction won't affect driving the car with the throttle opened.

On a DPFI it should be on top of the intake manifold on the side near cylinder #1 (the driver's side of the car). Honda's official term is EACV but a lot of people call it the IACV, talking about the same part.
