Default eating oil

I have a 1996 honda hatch with a d16y7. Bought it used, the owner before did not change oil frequently. Anywho i have repaced a head gasket due to minor leakage into cooling system. right after i did that(before no oil leaks what so ever) the oil pan started leaking. I then replaced the pcv valve due to rough running and noticing oil burning out of exhuast. I am figuring that there is too much oil pressure and is forcing oil past the oil rings. if anyone has any other ideas for me let me know i was going to try to clean out the oil system but waitin for more ideas. thanks
Alex

Oil burning produces blue smoke from the exhaust. Is this what you are seeing?

Have you checked the ignition timing? Did you replace the timing belt and water pump when you had the head off? Check whether the cam and crank may be a tooth out of synch at TDC. If so, adjust the timing belt accordingly.

Your problem could also be caused if the head was not properly resurfaced or was warped. In this case, compression test the cylinders.

Also make sure that the PCV hose leading to the intake manifold and the breather hose running between the valve cover and air cleaner are clear and allowing unrestricted air flow. If not, clean them out with carburetor cleaner.
